Sony FX6 Recoil Rig

The Sony FX6 Recoil Rig is a shoulder-mounted system engineered specifically for the Sony FX6 camera. This Next Generation Recoil design provides optimal balance and comfort whether used on the shoulder or on a tripod. As modern cameras and lenses are similar in weight, the ideal balance point sits where the lens meets the camera body. For shoulder-mounted shooting, that balance point must rest directly over the operator’s shoulder, which naturally positions the camera farther back. The Recoil system compensates for this by relocating focus, monitoring, and camera controls forward, resulting in a lighter, shorter, and properly balanced rig.

Rig Components

The Sony FX6 Recoil Rig includes the VCT Pro baseplate, the Rosette Trigger Grip for relocating the Sony FX6 handgrip, a 13.5" LANC extension cable, the FX6 Top Plate, and the FX6 Handle Mount. It is also well-suited for pairing with a Kameleon EVF. For vertical shooting with the Sony FX6, the VCT Rotator can be added.

Included Components

VCT Pro

A versatile baseplate featuring a sliding top plate for fast camera removal and quick lens changes. It includes a curved shoulder pad, a v-wedge tripod connector (with both ¼"-20 and 3/8"-16 screw options), removable and extendable 6.5" iris rods, and multiple ¼"-20 accessory mounting points along the sides. The rear features quick-release 15mm rod ports, and the recessed front rod mount maximizes accessory clearance beneath the lens.

Sony Trigger Grip

A highly adjustable grip system that relocates the Sony FX6 camera grip to an ergonomic position for shoulder-mounted operation. The trigger mechanism allows single-handed, full 360° rotation. Each handle rotates independently and can be positioned low for stability, raised for an Aaton-style feel, or flipped upward for placing the camera on the ground or storing it in a case. Grip length is adjustable via a red locking lever.

FX6 Top Plate

A top plate designed to fit around the Sony FX6 top handle. It provides two removable 15mm rod locks, a Z-Rail, and multiple ¼"-20 mounting points on the top and sides for accessories.

Sony FX6 Handle Mount

An adapter that converts the proprietary Sony handle interface into a quick-release 15mm rod port. It rotates and angles up to 45 degrees, making it ideal for mounting accessories such as the Axis Micro or Axis Mini.
