Zacuto C400 Z-Finder Recoil

The Canon C400 Z-Finder Recoil Pro is a shoulder rig designed specifically for the Canon C400. This next-generation Recoil rig delivers optimal balance and comfort for shoulder-mounted or tripod use. By relocating focus, monitoring, and camera controls forward, the rig positions the camera directly over the shoulder, creating a shorter, lighter, and properly balanced setup while keeping the camera stable and accessible.

The shoulder-mounted kit includes the VCT Pro Baseplate, Rosette Trigger Grip, Canon C400 Cage, Canon C400 Z-Finder with Rosette Adapter and Axis Mini, and Tactical Handle. This configuration is optimized for using the Canon C400 LCD screen with the Z-Finder in a shoulder-mounted setup.

Included Components:

VCT Pro Baseplate – Features a sliding top plate for quick camera removal or fast lens changes, a built-in curved shoulder pad, and a V-wedge tripod connector compatible with 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 screws. Includes removable and extendable 6.5" rods, multiple 1/4"-20 mounting holes along the sides, quick-release 15mm rod components in the rear, and a recessed rod mount providing maximum accessory space beneath the lens.

Rosette Trigger Grip – Relocates the Canon C400 handgrip to a comfortable position for shoulder rigs. The grip allows single-handed 360° rotation with the press of a trigger, providing full adjustability for different shooting styles.

Canon C400 Cage – Includes a top plate and optional side rails that mount to the VCT Pro. The top plate features a built-in Z-Rail for mounting the Tactical Handle and maintains access to the camera’s hotshoe for audio devices. Tapped holes allow relocation of Canon’s mic shock mount to the side. The cage includes bi-directional Z-Rails, integrated cold shoe slots, multiple anti-rotation 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 tapped holes, and removable top 15mm rod clamps. The side rails feature Z-Rails with Arri-style rosettes and additional tapped holes for accessory mounting.

Tactical Handle – A versatile handle that can function as a top handle, left-hand grip, or right-hand grip using a simple ratcheting lever. Slim and comfortable to hold, it includes a Z-Rail (NATO rail) with multiple 1/4"-20 screw holes for accessories, a cold shoe mount, and a 15mm rod port for the Axis Mini EVF mount.

Axis Mini – A compact, highly adjustable mount for rosette-mounted Z-Finders and EVFs. Offers full 360° rotation and four points of adjustment, while leaving ample space for lens operation. Designed for shoulder-mounted or tripod setups, it can be adjusted with one hand while on the rig. The Axis Mini attaches to the Tactical Handle’s 15mm rod port and features three independently controlled tension levers for precise positioning.

Canon C400 Z-Finder with Rosette Mount – An optical viewfinder designed for the Canon C400 LCD monitor. Magnifies the LCD by 2.5x and includes a diopter wheel for precise focus adjustment. Z-Finder Extender Frames allow farsighted users to extend the glass further from the monitor. The included diopter range is -2.5 to 0, with optional drop-in diopters for further adjustment. Interchangeable diopters (-1, +1, +2, +3, +4) ensure perfect clarity. The Rosette mount allows use with the Axis Mini. The Canon C400 Z-Finder is also available as a separate item.
